Halloween 2012

I am a little slow in posting this, but hey, at least I am posting about Halloween before Thanksgiving arrives.  

Jack made this pumpkin at preschool.  He is absolutely loving preschool.

Jack and I made these paper pumpkins that we put on the mantle.  I am a bit of a perfectionist so it was hard for me to just let Jack draw his pumpkins freehand rather than using stencils, but I let him do it.  And I ended up loving his a lot.  They made me smile and laugh.  And it especially made me laugh when Jack looked at mine and said, "mom, yours look weird."  Ha! Ha!  

I bought some awesome LED tea lights that change colors to put in the paper pumpkins. A couple of nights we would just sit and look at these pumpkins.  Yep, we know how to have fun.

The boys and I made a bunch of these skeleton cookies for a neighborhood party. 

Carving pumpkins was a little more fun this year that in years past because Ben did it all by himself.  He did an awesome job carving his pumpkin.

I saw this costume on Pinterest and wanted to have Ben do it.  He wore this costume to school for the parade.  It was awesome.  

 Jack was Spyro from the game Skylanders.

 I didn't want Ben to wear the headless man costume trick or treating (which he was mad about) so he dressed up as a ninja.

 For the local grocery store trunk or treat, Luke was a monkey.

And for Halloween I was Little Red Riding Hood and Luke was the big bad wolf.

Halloween 2010

Yep, I thought I should write about Halloween before Thanksgiving arrives. I wanted to get a really nice picture of my little family in our Halloween costumes before I wrote a post about Halloween, but that hasn't happened yet and it most likely never will.

I saw an awesome Halloween clock on justagirlblog.com. While in Seattle I picked this clock up at the Goodwill-

And turned it into this clock.

I don't generally do a lot of craft things, but I've been doing more lately. I think it's my way of 'nesting.' Thanks to my little sister who cut out the vinyl spider webs for me and to Chad who found the rest of the spiders I needed to finish the clock. (I found one package of six, but I needed twelve. One reason I don't do crafts-I start them but don't complete them because something always gets in the way.)

Our Halloween festivities started at the beginning of the month with a family party with Chad's family. It was a lot of fun!

On a preschool field trip we went to the pumpkin patch.

The weekend before Halloween we went up to the North Logan pumpkin walk. We went last year too, but this year we went to see the pumpkins in the evening. Holy cow it was crowded! But worth it.

The day before Halloween we went to Chad's work for Trick or Treating and got way more than enough candy. Then we went to the neighborhood supermarket for a Trunk or Treat.

For Halloween we were the Incredibles. As somebody mentioned on a comment on a previous post, I got the costumes off the KSL classifieds. Unfortunately Chad's costume didn't fit, so I made him a t-shirt to match our costumes.

Halloween ended with a ward party and then trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. Jack opted out of trick-or-treating in the neighborhood because it had been a long day and Ben and I only went to about dozen and a half houses because it was raining and windy.
